Unfortunately, we have little information about the men who served in the 145th ECB, and very few photographs. The information we do have comes from the unit history, which named only a few of the Battalion’s 664 officers and enlisted men. Most of these mentions related to changes in officers or loss of men to illness, injury, or as casualties of war.
There are, however, a series of drawings made by a member of the Battalion, known only as Schrader, that give us a bit more insight to the Battalion’s personality. These can be seen in the “Drawings” link below. Several of these drawings include the ubiquitous “Kilroy” figure that appeared across Europe and elsewhere during the war.
